My name is Gert Veltink, I'm a Dutchman currently living in Emden, Germany. On these pages you can find some information about myself and things I'm interested in.
I was born and raised in Rijswijk near The Hague. In the mid 70's my family moved to Schagen where I finished my pre-university education. In 1982 I started studying Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam. After six years I managed to get my Master's Degree. I also did receive my Doctor's Degree at the same university for a thesis about computer tools for PSF, a formal description technique (FDT) for the specification of communicating parallel processes. To gain international working experience I moved to Germany and worked as a software engineer in the telecommunications industry developing software for digital telephone switching systems. After six years I decided to return to the Netherlands and moved to Almere in December 1998. I have worked for several software companies in and around Amsterdam since then. In 2004 I moved to Germany again after I had been offered a professorship at the University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg/Ostfriesland/Wilhelmshaven. Thank you for visiting this page! |
